Casual Vacancy Nominations
4 New Community Councillors
Deadline for Nominations
Wednesday 18th May 2016
Due to resignations at the March 2016 AGM, there are now casual vacancies available for 4 new Community Councillors and nominations are now being sought. We need enthusiastic applicants with new ideas willing to take on responsibility for developing and enhancing our village, improving the environment and community facilities. In particular it is hoped to attract someone interested in Emergency Planning and Flood Prevention / Recovery issues.
The council is made up of 15 volunteers from the village and village businesses. Apart from the Secretary who receives an honorarium, there is no payment for serving on the council although certain categories of expenses are reimbursed. The Council meets on the last Thursday of every month except for the months of July, August and December and meetings usually last from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
The meetings, which are friendly and non political, are usually attended by the Aberdeenshire Councillors and the Police, subjects discussed can be found in the current Agenda or copies of past Minutes but cover such matters as planning applications (for which we are Statutory Consultees), new housing developments, Local Development Plan, crime, vandalism, speeding, litter, dog poo, environmental issues, village initiatives, bus services, Christmas trees and Christmas lights, in fact just about anything to do with where YOU live … KEMNAY!
If you would like to stand for nomination the process is simple. Download a copy of the Nomination Form from this website in pdf format below:
or use the form in the May 2016 Newsletter, or collect one up from the Village Hall, Library, Post Office, Collies, Lingards or the Hair Shop, or email email@example.com and request one.
